Outerwear in golf, it’s forever changing and these days for the better.
The competition has never been greater to, not only get the golf business, but to get it right in terms of the product.
One of the leaders in the industry is Antigua, with it’s headquarters located in Phoenix Arizona since 1976.
Several factors go into the designs of today’s outerwear by the leading manufacturers. The spring of 2016 lines are out, and Antigua is among the companies that are ready to take their products to the next level. Which includes being named again this year, as the outerwear supplier for the 2017 LPGA Solheim Cup.
Click here to hear our interview with Pam Miller VP of Operations and Customer Service at Antigua.
Miller says that this year Antigua has brought in more Heather when it comes to new colors. They have backed off of very bright neon colors, that make others need sunglasses to look at you.
Antigua’s design team has created materials that golfers need on the course, that also work when your round is over as well.
Miller says it starts at the top with an owner that is an avid golfer, and if the companies products don’t for him, they work for golfers in general.
They need to fit comfortably, giving golfers the opportunity to swing the club without restriction. It needs to keep you warm on cold days, and with enough breathe-ability so golfers don’t overheat during play when it’s raining out.
Antigua gets feedback from touring professionals, including LPGA star Stacy Lewis about what’s needed on tour.
