DSC05961 Annika and Me DS

The Gog Blog Chicago’s #1 online golf news source by Rory Spears, Editor and Director of Content. Follow Rory on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter @GogBlogGuy with Annika Sorenstam at Demo Day at the 2016 PGA Show.

The 2016 PGA Show is underway, and demo day at the Orange County Golf Center is in the books.

It was nice of former World #1 and World Golf Hall of Famer, Annika Sorenstam to stop by and say hello while she was visiting friends at the Callaway section of the big circular driving range where demo day is held.

Soremstam looks like she could go back out on the LPGA Tour and start winning again right now.

In addition it was good to see club designer Roger Cleveland at the Callaway area, and it seems like the new wedge line he created (profiled here with our story from Cog Hill) has been a success. Callaway might have some more news here at the show.

DSC03715 Tim Clarke with the DUO ball DS

Wilson Staff Golf GM Tim Clarke has plenty to be smiling about these days.

Tim Clarke the GM of Wilson Golf has seen a nice rise in sales in his products, as Wilson continues to make it’s comeback as a major player in the golf equipment industry.

A new Wilson club line along with it’s DUO ball, has been a success. More on Wilson both from the show, and after I return to Chicago.

Look for Wilson products in more of your local retail golf stores, their name is making a comeback in the area of visibility as well.

DSC05954 Rory and Speeder DS

This is one shaft golfers need to get their hands on, a Fujikura Speeder Shaft.

Are you shopping for that new driver, do have one that needs a little more pop, try putting in a new shaft.

Yes it’s true, nobody wants to get the “Shaft” in life, or on the golf course, but if you want to post some lower scores, put a shaft in your club the touring pro’s are using in big numbers, the Fujikura Golf Shaft, one of their most popular shafts is the Speeder. You can’t go wrong, don’t be afraid to insist on Fujikura shafts in your new clubs, especially the driver and fairway woods. More on Fujikura as show week goes on.

DSC05948 Rory and Len at Demo day take 2 DS

BIG 3 partners Rory Spears (L) and Len Ziehm (R) working the grounds at demo day. Big 3 partner Tim Cronin is in Iowa doing research for the John Deere Classic, and monitoring news on the home front.

The BIG 3 partners reunited in Florida where the Ziehm machine has set up shop for the winter.

Don’t forget to follow Len on his site as well at Lenziehmongolf.com. He just posted a travel piece on Lake Wales here in Florida, and will have plenty more in the weeks ahead on Florida Golf.

Len and I will put together a podcast on the PGA show, and recap our thoughts over the next 2 days, and that will be posted here.

The Zero Friction group of Oakbrook has a new line of gloves out, to expand their product line, NBC Analyst and major champion Johnny Miller will be in their booth to talk about the new gloves including the one he is endorsing.Stay clicked in, photos coming in the next 48 hours.

Plenty of features and plenty of news coming in the next few days, Titleist has released several new products here at the show, and we’ll have more from FootJoy on the new and improved DNA Golf Shoes, one of the most comfortable golf shoes on the market.

Stay clicked in, it’s going to be a great week. #Thinkgolf2016  RS.
