FLORIDA HAS SWUNG…
So now the swing is over and it’s on to Texas for a few weeks, before heading to Augusta GA.
But some of the best swings at the final event in Florida, was done by players not in a great mood. Because Copperhead is just not any course, and it’s not an easy course.
20 under par is not going to win at Valspar, because the scores don’t get that low. They might at the Masters, but they don’t Innisbrook. Which brings us to one of the recent stories I heard about how Innisbrook members love to talk about how their course (Copperhead) plays tougher than the Augusta National Golf Club-Masters week.

STRIKER welcomes golfers to the “Snake Pit” holes 16-17-18 on Copperhead. That are quite a challenge.
But in spite of the higher scores at Valspar, the pro’s love the golf course.
According to tournament officials, Copperhead has been voted a top-6 course on the PGA Tour, by the players. Not a bad rating.
But a few players lost their cool this past week at Valspar. Which included a kicked putter across the green (Patton Kizzare, a smashed with a wedge sprinkler head that started spraying water everywhere. The video with Adam Hadwin trying to stop the water spray is sort of funny. Sahith Theegala launched his driver down a fairway. I guess hitting bad drives when you repeatedly miss cuts can do that to you.

THE SHACK GOLF CLUB of Glenview is open daily with seven simulators and a putting green. So join Arnie at the bar for a beverage and some flat bread pizza’s. Book a simulator at (847)-904-2905 or TheShackGolfClub.com
So congratulations to Viktor Hovland on winning the trophy with a paint brush on the top of it. Because it does look pretty cool. BTW just because Hovland finally won a tournament, doesn’t mean Team Europe is cakewalk to win the Ryder Cup. So yes Rory McIlroy is playing well. But the real question is can he win in Augusta. Can Rory close out the career Grand Slam.
TGL IS FINALLY OVER-did you miss the championship. So did I and apparently so did many others. The Atlanta Drive led by Billy Horschel, defeated the New York Golf Club in case you were wondering. The winning team split up $9 million dollars, second place split up $4.5 million dollars. Could TGL be a one and done.
SO WHEN DID FAST FREDDIE COUPLES become Mr. Media. So Couples once known for being scared to answer the phone. Because someone could be on the other end, and was never excited doing interviews. Has now become Mr. Media and Mr. PGA Tour/LIV Golf PR guy.
Couples has made comments on radio about Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf-which were false. But is giving out updates about Tigers health, something I’m sure Woods doesn’t like. It’s getting to a point where Couples, the official assistant captain for team golf events, needs to go back to being the old Freddie Couples.
CALLAWAY GOLF did a nice spring seminar of the product line for 2025, at Topgolf Naperville last week. So the pro’s and fitters that did not make the PGA Show in Orlando. Should now be up to speed for the season ahead. The Elyte line of clubs looks pretty solid, and I will be testing them out this weekend.
UPCOMING NEWS-New product from Tour Edge Golf will be coming soon. Cleveland Golf should have an announcement this week.
THE GOG BLOG will return this week. RS
