THE 120th Western Amateur will tee off this week at the Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park Illinois.
36-holes of stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday will cut the field to the low-44 and ties.
Thursday’s stroke play of 36 holes, will then lower the field to the final 16 players who advance to the match play portion of the championship. The champion will be decided on Saturday afternoon.
Michael Thorbjornsen will return to defend his title won in 2021, at The Glen View Club. But two other final-four finishers from last year Gordon Sargent (2022 NCAA Champion) and Austin Greaser (runner-up at the 2021 U.S. Amateur) also return.
LIVE STREAMING kicks in on Friday August 5th, as fans can watch the Sweet Sixteen matches in the morning. Followed by quarterfinal play in the afternoon.
THEN ON Saturday August 6th, coverage will follow both the semifinals in the morning, and championship match Saturday afternoon.

THE WESTERN GOLF ASSOCIATION is working with Thaler media to produce the coverage. Announcers will be David Marr III, and Tripp Isenhour. Emilia Migliaccio-runner up at the 2021 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, will be the on-course reporter.
WGA senior vice president of tournaments Vince Pellegrino, thanked both sponsors for helping bring the Western Amateur to a worldwide audience. Because this year the field will have 48 International players participating.
