THE NV5 Invitational on the Korn Ferry Tour, moves to July at the Glen Club.

THE NV5 Korn Ferry Tour event in the Chicago area, and operated by the Western Golf Association (WGA) will now move from May to July.

Starting in 2023 the dates will be July 25-30. With the Western Amateur at North Shore Country Club (also in Glenview) starting with practice rounds on July 31st.

WGA officials also announced that they have extended the agreement with Kempersports to host the NV5 Invitational at the Glen Club through at least 2026.

“These new dates will enable us to take advantage of Chicago’s beautiful summer season and solidify our event as a can’t-miss stop on the Korn Ferry Tour,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA, senior vice president of tournaments. “The Glen Club has been a fantastic host since 2019. Plus it’s a perfect venue for a championship with so much at stake. We’re excited to renew our partnership.”

The new dates for the NV5 Invitational, will put the event in the final stretch of tournaments. That wrap-up the year on the Korn Ferry Tour.

But with 30 PGA Tour cards on the line next year. The NV5 will be in the final-push for players trying to earn a PGA Tour card.

Harry Hall from Hayle, England survived a playoff with Northbrook’s Nick Hardy to win the 2022 NV5 Invitational back on Memorial Day weekend.

Several other area players participated in this years event, and had strong showings. This included Highwood’s Patrick Flavin and Deerfield’s Vince India.

NV5 has more than 100 offices worldwide, and presenting sponsor Old National Bank is in year three of a four year agreement. In 2023 purses will again rise for Korn Ferry Tournaments. 2023 will mark the first year of $1 million dollar purses. So this will add even more excitement to Korn Ferry to tour events, both the players and the fans.

2022 masters Champion Scottie Sheffler was the first winner of the tournament back in 2019. Cameron Young who had a runner-up finish at this years Open Championship won the tournament in 2021. So for more information see nv5invitational.com.
