Caesars Entertainment, Inc. has announced
the sale of the Atlantic City Country Club to
the Ottinger family group, that operates the
Ballamor Golf Club and Scotland Run GC
as of Tuesday April 15th.
“Caesar’s Entertainment Atlantic City has
been proudly associated with the Atlantic
City Country Club for years,” said Rick
Mazer, Regional President and General
Manager for Harrah’s Resort. “The club
has consistently served the Atlantic City
community with world-class golf for over
a century and is a major reason why the
Atlantic City area has become one of the
greatest resort and entertainment locations
on the East Coast,” continued Mazer.
“Caesars Entertainment is proud to expand
the offerings for premier golf and country
club experiences for our most loyal guests
through this newly forged partnership with
the Ottinger family group.”
Named the #1 public course in the state of
New Jersey by Golfweek Magazine, Golf
Magazine, Golf Digest, Atlantic City Country
Club is most famous for being “Birthplace
of the Birdie,” and home site for six USGA
major championships.
ATLANTIC CITY’S 14TH HOLE
By acquiring the club the Ottinger family
group now owns three of the top 10 public
golf courses in the state of New Jersey.

This will expand the Caesars Entertainment
loyalty program. Total Rewards Atlantic City
guests will now have access to preferred tee
times and discounted round pricing at the
three Ottinger Family courses. The ACCC,
Ballamor and Scotland Run.
Caesar’s Entertainment hotels and resorts in
Atlantic City, are now the “Official Atlantic
City Hotel Provider” for Ottinger Family Golf
Courses.
Atlantic City Country Club is Par 70 course,
that plays 6,577 yards from the tips, it has a
course rating of 72.3 and a slope of 133. The
club was designed by John Reid in 1897, and
was renovated by Willie Park Jr. (1915), then
Howard Toomey and William S. Flynn (1925),
and finally Tom Doak 1999.
The club is located on the bay of Atlantic City,
and has a view of the city’s skyline. It has 98
strategically placed sand bunkers. A seaside
wind, and windswept fescue add a challenge
the golfer receives.
When one enters the clubhouse, you are
taking a walk through history. Besides the
list of famous golfers who have played
there, other regulars included Bob Hope
during his vaudeville circuit days. During
1951-1952, Arnold Palmer was a regular
while being enlisted in the Coast Guard.
