Architect Greg Martin at the Wilmette Golf Club

Architect Greg Martin continues to stay busy on the local golf scene. Martin will start work this fall to upgrade the practice facilities at Jerry Rich’s, Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove. The work will be completed this fall, so not to interfere with the 2015 Western Amateur, or the 2016 LPGA International Crown. Martin will expand the practice tee, relocate the practice green and introduce a short range.

Martin design is preparing plans for the Setttler’s Hill Golf Club in Batavia. This will include the renovation of two holes and the addition of two holes to accommodate the inclusion of a practice range and a chipping green on the 1st and 13th holes. Phase one of the plan will begin this fall.

Wedgewood Golf Course operated by the Joliet Park District is moving forward with a renovation by Martin. Wedgewood the longest of three courses run by the park district needs irrigation improvements  and a facelift. Work will start late this year. Martin is also doing work with the Biltmore Country Club, last year it was the 13th green and this year it will be the 11th green and the 12th tee box.

Martin is watching the Wilmette Golf Club as it gets ready to come back into play, it’s scheduled reopening is July11th. For information on Martin design, visit martindesigngolf.com.
