THE PGA OF AMERICA has announced that Illinois PGA Section members Vince Juarez, and T.J. Sullivan have earned PGA Master Professional status.

This level is the highest PGA  educational designation that can be earned by a PGA member.

Juarez who earned his designation in general management, is the General Manager of the Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest. Sullivan is the Golf Tec-Oak Brook Director of Instruction, and earned his designation in teaching and coaching.

The PGA Master Professional Program (MPP 2.0) is available to any PGA Professional, who has been through and achieved their certification, through the PGA Professional Program.

This master program which was first used by the PGA, started in 1969. It requires the professional to undertake an extensive project, before presenting the project. If approved the professional then earns the Master Professional status.

To be eligible for the program, the professional must have 10 years of PGA Membership.

Juarez, has been a PGA Member for 19 years. In 2014 he was named general manager of the year by KemperSports, earning him the James R. Seeley General Manager of the Year Award.

“Reaching the highest level of education achievement in the PGA of America is a great honor,” said Juarez. “I would like to continue to mentor and inspire other PGA Members who wish to further their career through advanced PGA certifications.”

Sullivan a PGA Professional for 12 years, after graduating from the PGA Management Program at the Coastal Carolina University in 2007.

Sullivan has previously earned six GOLFTEC Outstanding Achievement in Instruction Awards from GOLFTEC.

Sullivan earned the 2019-2020 “Best Teacher in State Award” by Golf Digest Magazine.

“When I was first inducted to the PGA Membership, I set a goal for myself to always continue my education and grow as a Professional,” said Sullivan. “To be in the same group as the other Master Professional is a huge honor, As I’ve learned a tremendous amount about golf, the golf swing and about myself through the process.”
