When the Ryder Cup Matches tee off in September of 2020. Team USA will have Wisconsin native Steve Stricker at the helm.

Stricker has won both on the PGA Tour, and the PGA Champions Tour, and been part of a winning Ryder Cup team in 2008 at Valhalla, will have his team ready to go in his home state.

The reaction to Stricker has been a positive one from PGA President Suzy Whaley and Kohler Company President David Kohler. Kohler Company owns the American Club resort and venue Whistling Straits, designed by Pete Dye.

One of Stricker’s first moves as captain was to appoint 2018 Team USA captain Jim Furyk as one of his vice-captains.

The first event for players to earn 2020 Ryder Cup points was this past weekend at the WGC Championship that was played in Mexico and won by Dustin Johnson. Rory McIlroy who plays great at Whistling Straits and is expected to lead Team Europe in 2020, was second behind Johnson.
