THE FINAL ROUND of the national PGA of America Assistant’s Championship is underway on the Wanamaker Course in PGA Village, in Port St. Lucie Florida. Good news is that our four local Illinois assistants all made the cut. Dan Olson of Quail Creek, Chris French of Aldeen, and Andy Mickelson of Mistwood Golf Club are all in the Top 10, but probably just a few too many shots back to win the tournament.
Kudo’s to Illinois golf coach Mike Small on his Top-20 finish in the Senior PGA Club Professional Championship, and a spot in the 2019 Sr. PGA Championship at Oak Hill in Rochester NY.
