SCARY TIMES out there in the golf world, as it seems that the world’s greatest sport, is being sucked into a cesspool of political correctness.

The PGA Tour stepped in a pile of it this week, with the moving of the WGC-Championship to Mexico (of all places) that has been held at Trump Doral on the Blue Monster Golf Course. The PGA Tour leaving Doral after 54 years, may god help us.

If there is any sport that embraces it’s tradition and history, it’s golf. The PGA Tour has moved away from other courses before and that’s not new. But it’s usually for good reasons, the course got too short and there was no room to lengthen it. Not enough space for galleries and tents, and or clubhouses that were old and not large enough to handle a tour event. However it appears in this case, the PGA Tour is scared of a golf course owner who could become our nations next president.

Maybe PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem is the one who should be investigated.

Yes, you will hear stories about sponsor Cadillac pulling out of the tournament, because of the resort being owned by Trump. There might be some truth to that, but it appears there is more to it than that, including Cadillac thinking the Champions Tour is more their demographic.

In a time where every sports body should thinking about creating events or games and keeping them in America=jobs and money. The PGA Tour thinks Mexico ???

The tour apparently has received assurances of extra security to avoid any kidnappings of any tour players that would attend WGC-Mexico. Okay, when you need these kind of assurances to have an event somewhere, do you really need to go there in the first place ?

Top world players are already thinking of skipping the olympic games, yes the olympics because of Mosquito’s. Think of what they will do when the chances of being kidnapped and held for ransom or being confronted by cartel gunmen becomes a reality. What happens south of the border is much more than what Robert Allenby had happen in Hawaii. PGA Tour players do like to drink a lot of water, need I say more.

This move has disaster written all over it. If you want to move it the championship, at least stay in Florida. Florida has plenty of golf courses in the Miami area that don’t belong to Trump. Then again maybe Finchem and the Tour have a plan in Mexico, like to have a golf course with a wall built around it. That would be right up their fairway. RS
