There are several top names when it comes to custom putter design, but none might stand taller than Scotty Cameron who is part of Titleist.
It’s always interesting to see the Cameron crazies come out in force to see Scotty Cameron appears at places like the PGA show.
Scottie didn’t disappoint again this year either. Not only was Cameron out signing autographs, but he spent time talking to everyone that his questions or comments about his designs, or what might be on the drawing board.
Scotty Cameron and Titleist have announced his newest line of custom putters will hit the pro shops on April 8th.
The new design features innovative new face technology, blend milled Scotty Cameron craftsmanship with a new enhanced multi-material design that should deliver tour-validated performance with unmatched feel and feedback, that according to Titleist and Cameron.
“The new Select line promotes feel while expanding what’s possible with performance,” Cameron said. “We’ve now extended the methodology of our proven multi-material technology to include new stainless steel inlays for blades, as well as aluminum inlays for the mid-mallet models. The result is a better look, a better sound, a better feel and a better product.”
The new Select Newport, Newport 2, and Newport 2.5 models, are a heel-and-toe weighted blade that is designed to support a more flowing stroke. Each of the models has a sole-to-topline 303 stainless steel inlay that is precision mid-milled and hand-buffed to a brilliant, metallic finish, which is then bonded to a stainless steel body which uses a high-tech vibration dampening material.
The Newport 2 Notchback Dual Balance model will suit the players that prefer the famed Scotty Cameron Newport style head, but need more stability in their stroke.
All the Dual Balance models, Newport 2, Notchback DB has a 50-gram heavier head (which is 400 grams total) and a 50-gram counterweight in the butt of the shaft. This configuration helps many golfers have a proper stroke when the butt of the shaft can remain pointed at midsection.
The new Cameron lines create a mixture of the following features. Multi-Material Technology, Balance and Forgiveness, Enhanced Alignment Options, Responsive Feel for Feedback, Tour Proven Performance, newer and modern Aesthetics
The full new line includes Newport, Newport 2, Newport 2.5, Newport 2 Notchback, Newport M1, Newport M2, and Newport 2 Notchback Dual Balance.
The new Cameron Select Line putters are MAP $379 with a MSRP $410. The new Select Dual Balance putter is MAP $399 with a MSRP of $425.
