THE 15TH ANNUAL “NATIONAL GOLF DAY” is back on the nations capital. Because the last two years, the event was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This years dates are May 9 and 10.. There will be over 200 meetings with members of congress and their staffs. The meeting focus on the economic, social, environmental and health benefits of the game.

The two day event starts with a beautification project on the National Mall, with the help of over 225 volunteers. But a private breakfast for members of congress will be held by the PGA Tour on May 10th.

GOLF AS A BUSINESS is now a $84.1 billion dollar economic activity across America, and almost two million Americans have jobs in the industry. But the compensation to those workers has grown to over $58.7 billion dollars annually.

But the amount of people playing golf in America has grown to over 41.1 million people. Because over 500,000 new golfers took up the game in 2022. Females and non-white golfers now total over 25% of the people that play golf. But the total of new junior golfers (aged 6-17) grew to over one million in 2022. Awareness like this, continues to put important golf industry information in front of America’s political leaders.
