Welcome to the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs of the PGA Tour

THE 2021 Fed Ex Cup Playoffs are underway, with this weeks Northern Trust.

But today they will not be held, because of incoming weather from a major storm coming up the east coast.

So final round play will begin at 7:30 AM on Monday morning. Arlington Heights native Doug Ghim shot a third round 8 under par 63, to move 39 spots up the leaderboard. Ghim needs to move up 13 spots in the Fed Ex Cup points race to make the field at the BMW Championship at Caves Valley this coming week.

Helen Alfredsson with the 2019 senior LPGA Championship trophy.

THIS WEEKS SENIOR LPGA CHAMPIONSHIP on the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort will be missing a champion.

Because defending champion Helen Alfredsson who won the trophy in 2019, forgot to enter on time.

So in spite of an extra year to get her entry into the LPGA, Alfredsson forgot to enter on time. Because of her late entry, she was denied a spot in the field by the LPGA. For Alfredsson as the old saying goes, wait until next year.

The clubs have now been launched for orders with graphite shafts. But orders with steel shafts launch on September 17th.

Cleveland Golf General Manager Brian Schielke says the new Halo Irons will make the game more fun for all golfers.

“Most of us don’t have a lot of confidence standing 170 yards from a green with a long iron in our hand,” said Schielke.” But with a Launcher XL HALO you can swing easier, feel confident, and be surprised on how forgiving these clubs are. These irons will become your go to clubs.” But for more information see ClevelandGolf.com.
