THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP all this weekend on CBS-from the Kiawah Island Resort near Charleston South Carolina. ILLINOIS WOMEN’S OPEN is back July 6-7 sign up. _____________________________________________________________________
SO THEY ARE READY for Week #6, and are making they’re way to the tee box.
Golfers on Golf Radio on Am 820 WCPT is back for it’s sixth week of 2021.
Because what a week it’s been for golf.
Last weeks guest Brad Marek from Arlington Heights and John Hersey High School, along with the Indiana University golf team alumni, has made the cut at the PGA Championship. Marek who played in the extremely windy conditions on the Ocean Course on Friday, is the low club professional heading into the weekend. Only Marek and one other club pro made the cut, while players like Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas did not. Marek starts the day ahead of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Ryder Cup Captain Steve Stricker.
THIS WEEK Golfers on Golf Radio returns to South Carolina to take a look at golf in the low country. Because CBS’s Charlie Rymer joins us live, along with Shaun Donahue from one of South Carolina’s top public golf venue’s, Tidewater Golf Club in Myrtle Beach.
LEN ZIEHM of the Daily Herald joins us, with thoughts on the world of college golf, both on local men’s and women’s golf programs. But also with some thoughts on the passing of long time golf architect Arthur Hills. Hills 91, passed away this past week, designed some local area courses like Bolingbrook, Chicago Highlands, Stonewall Orchard and The Ivanhoe Club. Hills was involved in some renovation work in town at Ruth Lake Country Club and Naperville Country Club.
