DURING THE 2021 ILLINOIS Amateur last July. Architect Ray Hearn returned to Mistwood Golf Club, a course he designed and then renovated years later.

Hearn joined Golfers on Golf, and Tim Cronin of the Illinois Golfer, to discuss Mistwood, Mistwood’s late owner Jim McWethy, and other national projects that Ray Hearn Golf Design is currently working with.

Hearn an Evans Scholar and Michigan State alum, has also worked in Illinois at Flossmoor Golf Club, Midlothian CC and has another project coming soon in Oak Brook.

This spring Hearn will get back to work at Boyne Resorts in Northern Michigan, where among other projects, he will be designing the resorts new short course.
