Bob Spence at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta GA.

Bob Spence a former KemperSports executive, who went on to work with Davis Love III and his course design team has passed away after lengthy battle with cancer.

His wife Sheila of 35 years confirmed his passing tonight, through Len Ziehm on Golf.

Spence would be remembered by Chicago area golfers as the first head professional and Director of Golf at Kemper Lakes, when the club opened for public play in 1979. Spence was one of the main contacts for KSM, who worked with Kemper Lakes designing architects Dick Nugent and Ken Killian.

Spence worked on some 40 new course and renovation projects with Love III. In recent years Spence worked with the development of the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta Georgia.
